How FBTL
Works
A monthly subscription focused on the side of tennis our sport has neglected and failed to teach: the emotional experience of the competitive tennis player. The part that determines everything — your success, your enjoyment, your longevity.
Built for Players
Helpful for Parents
Practical for Coaches
"This is a proactive, preventative program for the emotions we know are coming. We see it on the tours. If it's happening to them, it's happening to all of us. So we prepare for it."
Barry Buss
Creator, First Ball to Last
Daily postings. Six connected sections. A proactive, preventative program for the emotions we know are coming — built before you need it.
Six Connected Sections
Every section of FBTL works together. The Teaching Academy sets the trait. Daily Routines train the habits. The Emotion Racket monitors the state. Pep Talks handle the hard moments. The Player's Box aligns the support system. Character ties it all to who you are becoming.
Teaching Academy
The Teaching Academy is the heart and soul of FBTL. The concept is to build the ideal player. I've identified the traits of the most successful and grounded among us — not just tennis players, but leaders in every part of society — and each month we take one on and teach it to you.
I'd love to teach you Rafa's forehand or Serena's serve — could have used them myself when I was playing — but what I can do is teach you how to compete like them and carry yourself like them.
The four-step process — one trait a month. We don't just learn it, we earn it.
Chart Your Progress
We start with a baseline test. Let's see where you are. Then four weeks of training. Then we retest, and you earn yourself a badge on our FBTL EQ Grid — think of it as your bingo card.
One badge a month. Fill the card. Become the player. Apply it to tennis, then take it with us into life.
Daily Routines
Time-tested. The practices of society's most successful people — check-ins, mindfulness, meditation, mantras, reflection. Small habits. Big emotional edge. Train the inner game like you train your strokes.
Here's the philosophy: build it before you need it. Pressure exposes habits. Routines build them. So we check in before emotions take over. We reset before the match gets away. We train the skills we'll need under stress.
Think of it as your emotional immune system, built before the stress arrives.

The First Week Is on Me.
Free. No commitment. Give it seven honest days and see what it does for you. Because a week is about all it takes to know whether this is the thing that's been missing.
